The Matthew Marth Quartet will be taking the stage at Reigen Live Vienna in early December as part of the Vienna Jazz Floor Festival. (Because of the current COVID-19 lockdown in Austria, the show will now be live-streamed via Youtube.) The quartet is lining up a colorful program, including music from their album Lucky Number, as well as some irresistible evergreens from the Brazilian jazz songbook. Highlights will include the ambiguously sad Pra Machucar Meu Coração by the late Brazilian maestro Ary Barroso, two catchy and varied compositions by guitarist Çagri Beklen in the direction of bossa-jazz fusion, 25 and Blue, and one of Chico Buarque de Hollanda’s samba masterpieces, Bom Tempo.
Please join us for an hour of heart, mind, grooves, passion and chillaxin’. Thanks to Reigen Live Vienna and the Vienna Jazz Floor Festival for making the show possible under difficult circumstances! Tune in for a good time and in solidarity with Reigen and the diverse Viennese jazz scene!
UPDATE: Unfortunately, the concert slated for 6 November has been postponed until further notice because of the latest COVID-19 lockdown measures in Austria (all clubs are shuttered for the month of November). We'll announce a concrete date as soon as we have one. We hope you all stay safe and healthy in this difficult time!
